Tippmann Pen Spring Mod Tutorial
This tutorial will show you how to lighten your Tippmann 98 Custom's trigger pull. It takes about 5-10 minutes to do and only requires a household pen spring.
What you need
- Tippmann 98 Custom (yea, you'll need that)
- A set of allen wrenches
- A pen that uses a spring
- Wire cutters
1. Layout your Tippmann 98 Custom, pen, allen wrenches, and wire cutters nicely. You're going to be dealing with small parts that you're going to want to lose. You want a nice open surface to work on.
2. Take your spring-loaded pen and do whatever you need to get the spring out. Usually you just have to pull out the top of the pen to access it. Take the spring out and put the rest of the pen aside.
3. Using your allen wrench, unscrew the 5 screws holding the guns two sides together. The screws are located on the left side of the gun. Carefully pull the one side of the gun off the other and put it aside.
4. Locate the trigger (please tell me you can do this). You'll see the stock spring.
Carefully take this spring out.
5. Take the spring from the pen and cut it with the wire cutters to about the same length as the previous spring. I usually cut the spring a little longer than the stock spring. Again,
carefully place the spring where the old stock spring was inside your Tippman 98.
5. Once your new pen spring is in, carefully put the other half of your Tippmann's half on top of the other. Then screw in your screws (remember, don't over-righten them).
You're done! Test out your Tippmann's new pen spring mod!
