Lubing Up is Crucial January 13th, 2008

Lubing your paintball gun is absolutely necessary for any marker owner. How often do you use your paintball gun? There is no doubt, lubing your paintball gun periodically is the most important maintenance you can perform on your marker. If you play with your marker (i.e. shoot it with paintballs or Reballs) 3 or more times a week, you should lube all moving parts every week or so. At a molecular level, it really improves the longevity of your internal o-rings, and in turn, improves your air efficiency and overall gun accuracy. If you don't know what that means or how the guns even work, just take my word for it. Like taking care of a car, you change your oil every 3,000 miles; like taking care of your paintball marker, you lube your gun every week or two.

I personally recommend only two types of paintball gun lube:

1. Smart Parts Sl33k Lube

2. Dye Slick Lube

I really only suggest using these two lubricants, but for a reason. The Sl33k lube was developed by Dow Corning, the world's leading manufacturer of silicone-based products. It really comes down to another molecular level, where only certain kinds of lubes "treat" your internal o-rings with "respect". The Smart Parts Sl33k and Dye Slick lube have the correct "thickness" that most paintball gun bolts need in order to work efficiently. In fact, when we were in Atlanta for the paintball tradeshow, one of Dye's regional reps claimed that the Sl33k lube really tops most other gun lubes out there.

Take care of your gun and it will take care of you

Dye DM8 Paintball Gun

Dye DM8 Specifications

New for 2008, the Dye DM8 has a host of features, updates, and refinements. We have utilized our resources of professional players, designers, and engineers to come up with the best marker yet in the Dye Matrix series. The Dye DM8 continues the tradition of being one of the lightest, smallest, fastest and certainly the most accurate of paintball markers in the world. To improve on an already reliable design, the DM8 has no eyeplates. This is possible with the new internal patent-pending Eye Pipe anti-chop sensing system. This new design eliminates the need for eyeplates and allows us to reduce the width of the marker body, ultimately reducing the weight by 1.5oz. The new micro LPR has been reduced in size and now provides more efficient shot consistency. On top of this, we are introducing the all new Hyper3 regulator. The Hyper3 is now smaller, more consistent, and more precisely adjustable allowing you to set your pressure in finer increments. All of these innovations, coupled with new 3D body styling, standard features like the patent pending Dye Ultralite frame and 2 piece barrel, give perfection a new meaning.

Dye Hyper3™ Regulator

Dye Regulator

The proven Hyper regulator design has been greatly improved. Now introducing the Hyper3™ in-line regulator. This new design is sleeker, smaller, more consistent and offers more precise increments of adjustment. We’ve taken in-line regulators to the next level. Our new shim stack is more responsive and reacts quicker to pressure changes allowing better flow and a faster response. This ultimately provides you with a regulator that is more easily adjustable. The size has been dramatically reduced allowing us to incorporate the soft rubber outer grip. This outer grip is developed from the same compounds used in our proven Sticky Grips, and will provide you with a secure surface for which to hold your marker. In addition, the Hyper3™ air input swivel ring allows it to work with all bottom line configurations. Features standard threads to fit most markers.

Dye DM8 and PM8 Announced October 11th, 2007

The rumors are true about the release of the new 2008 line of Dye paintball guns. The announcement was quick and to the point: The DM8 (Dye Matrix 2008) and PM8 (Proto Matrix 2008) are coming soon. There isn't a reliable source for a picture of the new Dye DM8 yet. The PM8, however, can be see below:

Dye PM8 (Proto Matrix 2008)

The Dye DM8 and PM8 guns will both come with an all new, totally redesigned Hyper Reg that is significantly smaller, lighter, and has noticeably improved consistency and flow. It has been labeled the Hyper III.

The PM8 guns will come standard with an Ultralite Frame. It will contain next year's stock UL board.

Thanks,
Robin Niehaus -DYE Precision, Inc.

There are a few things I'd like to mention here:

One, I'm anxious to see the official image release of the Dye DM8. I'll release it as soon as we find it. Feel free to contact us if you get it before us.

Two, It looks as if both the DM8 and PM8 are more geared toward improving the efficiency rather than the cosmetics (looks). As you heard from their press release, the Hyper 3 regulator will be making it's debut along with the 2008 gun line. This is nothing but good news to me. I have no doubt in my mind that the Dye DM8 will "wow" us as far as milling and overall looks go, Dye has a reputation for that - but really applaud them for taking initiative in improving the air flow and consistency of their markers. Also, despite what most people say about the PM8, I think they look sexy - always have.

Two, expect Dye's 2007 product line to drop in price. I would hope they will do so before Christmas, but it doesn't look like it. Regardless of when, it will happen. You should expect a drop between $100-$200 when the DM8 and PM8 release.

The release date for the new DM8 and PM8 will most likely be at the PSP World Cup event, but it isn't confirmed.

2007 Redz Ego April 24th, 2007

2007 Redz Ego

The 2007 Redz Ego is receiving a lot of popularity lately for its low profile and maintenance. All Egos, not just the Redz, are slowly converting Dye Matrix enthusiasts. There was once a time where Dye's Matrix line surpassed all other marker's capabilities; but that time is over. The 2007 line of Egos are showing what they can do on and off the field. I don't mean to upset the Dye owners... BUT I would recommend at least trying the 2007 Egos out and let its performance speak for itself.
