Season 2 of Xtreme Paintball airs today at 4:30 on Fox Sports Network (FSN). Check your local TV listings for time changes since it varies based on your location. Xtreme Paintball is one of the very first television shows ever made centering entirely around the sport. Not only that, but the show gets a bit more "personal" with the players through interviews, stories, and other experiences. It's not 100% tournament play - you get some drama along with the action

I had the pleasure to speak to Craig Miller, Senior VP of Procaps and DraXxus paintball, as well as VP of the newly formed Paintball Sports Trade Association. The PSTA has one clear mission: Increase the awareness, acceptance, and participation of Paintball all over the world. We asked Craig some questions that might help clarify what the PSTA's purpose is.
Q: What is the ultimate purpose/goal of the PSTA?
Craig: The Mission Statement says it best: "To increase the awareness, acceptance, and participation in Paintball around the world".
Q: How was it started and who's idea was it?
Craig: It began in a Disney's Wide World of Sports meeting room at the 2005 PSP World Cup. Many people within the industry have conversationally agreed over the years that our industry needs an industry association to promote Paintball to the world at large, and to be a clearinghouse for information on the game, on safety, on best practices, and Paintball in general. Most industries and sports have associations that do all of these things, and now finally, Paintball joins the ranks of Baseball, Football, Basketball, Rugby, Soccer, Hockey, etc., with an industry association to promote the safe growth of our great game.
Q: Who's allowed to become a member?

The 2007 PSP World Cup event ended on Sunday, October 29th. Team Ironmen took the cup defeating Boston Red Legion in the finals with a score of 7-6. Close game. Team Ironmen are now the new 2007 World Cup Champions, 2007 NXL Series Champions, and $30,000 richer.
Bea Youngs blogged about the event as she was announcing it. She also grabbed an interview with Ken Griffey Jr., who was there playing with his kids. Sounds like a cool guy. Check out a picture of his Ego 8. Watch the interview below.

Spite Digital Productions released a very well-done paintball documentary titled 'Ballers'. The short, 10 minute video has interviews of regular folks answering questions regarding the "sport". The ultimate question this video documentary addresses is: "Is paintball considered a sport or a mere hobby?"
I believe the argument can go both ways, honestly. It's an interesting question to address, regardless of it's stagnation. Watch the video below and then voice your opinion in the poll below that. Enjoy.
