Virtue Crown - King of Hoppers June 30th, 2008

If you've played paintball in the last year or two, and you're fairly observant to other player's gear, you have probably seen a good amount of people use what's called a "Speed Feed" on their hoppers while playing. A Speed Feed is a very simple product for your hopper/loader that attaches at the top, replacing your lid. The obvious reason for using a Speed Feed is to load and HOLD paintballs in your hopper without having to open/close the lid during games. Virtue just released their version of the Speed Feed, cleverly called the Crown, at this summer's 2008 Chicago PSP Open.

If you run out of paint during a game, it isn't exactly convenient for you to open your lid and pour a pod of paintballs in your hopper then close it. Today, paintball is getting so aggressive that (good) players specifically look for the exact moment where you retract into your bunker to refill paint so they can move up the field (or worse, bunker you). The Virtue Crown also keeps your paintballs from flying out of your hopper, for those "extraordinary" situations (see video below). The innovation behind the Virtue Crown has been widely accepted by most paintballers today because they're relatively cheap ($20 retail), and can ultimately help you win a few more games with your team.

Key Features for the Virtue Crown

* Ultra Fast Lid-Less Feed
* No Rise Low Profile Option
* Secure Locking Ring w/ Thumbscrew
* Durable, Memory Resistant Elastomer Will Not Crack or Get Brittle
* Available in Ultra-Soft or Standard Elasticity Versions.
* Extra Paint Capacity (with optional, including, extension collar) - HALO only
* Compatible with HALO, Magna, Revolution, Force, Eye Force (Vlocity versions coming soon)

NXe JRNY February 10th, 2008

NXe JRNY Paintball Hopper

"The JRNY has arrived", according to nxejrny.com. This new self-praised paintball hopper has been getting a great response from the paintball community thus far. The NXe JRNY officially hit the shelves February 1st, but with limited supply due to a "software problem" on their first batch (so far so good guys!).

The video below is the NXe CEO explaining the new hopper. I actually think it's going to perform fairly well on field; unless of course they have another software problem.

Here is a little bit more information about what makes the JRNY unique:

Stuff That Doesn’t Make Sense… June 27th, 2007

I know most a good chunk of the traffic here at PaintballGuns.net comes from those who are under 18. In no way am I trying to be Mr. Safety or Mr. Perfect here today. There are as many things in paintball that make sense as do not make sense. These are some of the things that don't make sense. Read on and you will find we can change many of them. COMMENTS ARE ENCOURAGED!

1.) Picking fun at newbie's. Poking fun at the newbie player because they don't know what to you (the veteran player) seems like the obvious is just not cool. The newbie's are the future of our game. Consider taking a newbie under your veteran wing and showing them the ropes. Take the time to invest in your sport and help out a newbie and help them move up the ranks.

2.) An electro that is capable of 20 BPS with a gravity fed hopper on it. Why does this not make sense? A gravity hopper is capable of about 5-8 ball per second. While the marker is capable of 20 balls per second. This combination will blend paint when the marker out shoots the hopper. Sometimes when you are saving up for new gear you have to do this exact thing. Just be aware that you will blend paint faster than a Osterizer at puree mode if you out shoot the hopper.
