Smart Parts Impulse

Positive of Impulse:
This marker can be found for a very reasonable price. The parts can also be found for cheap due. The anno on this gun is not poor quality such as shocker's anno. The gun is very well balanced and due to the weight can be tuned to have little kick. There are a ridiculous amount of upgrades for this marker. And there is the ability to use both CO2 and compressed air. Easy maintenance

Cons of Impulse:

This is an older marker and the most obvious thing about it is its weight, it does weight about double some of the newer lighter markers. This marker is pretty inefficient and quite loud. The stock feed neck is very tall and no hoppers really fit into it without modification. The stock board is capped at 13.7 BPS without vision. The Smart Parts vision does not have the best logic and cannot read certain paint colors. The aluminum bolt has a tendency to scratch the inside of the breech. The detents must be changed to a stiffer kind if you are using a halo or double feeding will occur. The stock trigger is a little uncomfortable especially with the trigger guard being so small.

My experience:
This was my very first tournament grade marker. This is back in 2003 when they were top of the line. I was new to the whole maintenance thing and picked up on it very easy. Needless to say, I spent more on upgrades for the marker than I did on the marker itself. However when all the upgrades were put in it, it shot like a dream. I kept this marker for two years as a backup and it never went down on me, not once.

Why you should get this gun:
This is a great marker for the price you can get it used. For around $100 you can get a used Impulse and it will keep up with a lot of the newer guns. Though it is a little heavy in retrospect a pound and a half is not too big of a difference with a hopper and tank. It is a great marker for the price and is getting rarer by the day; if not a great gun it's a great collector's item.
