![]() keep your friends close,go paintballing every chance you get, do NOT get jerseys until youve got sponsered, have a team of as many people as you can and then swap out people if people are sick or hurt and all. get about 10 for a 5 to 7 man team and so on. play with a pump gun for a while it ups your game so much.

![]() well this next spring my friends and i( one is Nemacyst91 here on pbg.net)
are starting a 3 man team. We take on larger newbs teams of 8+people. but we play woods. my biggest question is price now. should we try to get local sponser to offset some of the cost or just shoot big.

![]() both. my frineds team (which i am trying out for) are sponsered by a field and get free entry and discounted paint and they just have to help out with new fields. they are also sponsered by doropaintball and bob long. they got marqs for half the proce and get disounts from doro. get some big sponsers after you get some close to home.

They give out sponsorships to smaller teams, you get discounted guns and paint. Redz is also pretty easy to get a sponsorship from. Don't be afraid to try local businesses. You can get a patch or something on your jersey or put up a banner for them at the field. |

![]() thanx,
I was going to try some local bussines after newyears to give us enough time to get a game plan started. right now i am the only person on the team really put some serious thought into what it TAKES to make a team work. there still just playing around waiting. I don't like things to come to me. I try to make things work for me, then better things will come after that.

![]() Find out what your local tournaments offer. I know in Houston, there are 3 different leagues. All 3 offer three man, but only one offers PSP style 5-man. Most local tournaments are 3 man, then some offer 5man, and maybe occasionally, there is a 7man. I highly doubt you'd find a 7man/10man at the local level. Maybe at the State, and most definitely at Nationals.
You need to get some people, form the team, and practice. Often times, teams will come out for practice on a certain day. Where I am, most of the teams practice all on Sundays. Find out that certain day, and go to it, and hop on. Work on multiple drills- buy a Dynasty Dysected movie if you must. It has a lot of great drills to learn, and do them every day before, or after scrimmaging. Doing decent in a tournament takes a lot of work, because you're going from everyone using Spyders with inexperience, to Egos, DM's, etc with lots and lots of experience. If you can find a local city forum, try and posting there to get onto a team. It's easier to hop on than to form. However, a tight knit group of friends will become more successful in the future. It is easier to bump up with friends, than to put a team together at a higher level. I've learned that the hard way, because I've dumped teams to move on with people I don't know, and it's hard. Newly formed teams are hard to get running, but they can work. I remember my 2nd team was brand new. They had played 9th in the first tourney, but when I joined, we practiced weekend after weekend for 3 months straight, and we went out and placed 5th and got prizes. Do not forget tournament speedball is expensive. Practice weekend after weekend is a pain, and the tournaments aren't cheap. Some fields will start offering team discounts, so after you play a tournament, ask the owner if he offers a team discount. Pretty much, not only are you looking for a teammates, you're looking for one hell of a hectic lifestlye. Be prepared. It's not just fun and games anymore, it's serious business.

![]() Got A three man team with a back up ready.
My self, Friend Scott, Friend Taylor, Backup Brother Matt. There are local fields nothing exeptional for turnies. We will have to drive or fly to get to bigger events. That a good thing for us so we don't get to ambitious. Next spring is my goal of starting tourney play. we have a couple of areas to practice as a team. that are large open areas ready to be set up. Can't wait to start but my friend are convinced that tippys will do them justice. mabye for the first try around. but will they be convince otherwise? thats my worrie. I'm saving up (before spring) to buy an automag.
