Many people here, and my friends have been having problems with internet/computer speed.
So here's some first steps you can take before posting your problems.
If your computer or connection is running slowly
In this case, it could be many things, most likely you have spyware on your computer.
What is spyware
Spyware is a technology that assists in gathering information about a person or organization without their knowledge. On the Internet, "spyware is programming that is put in someone's computer to secretly gather information about the user and relay it to advertisers or other interested parties." As such, spyware is cause for public concern about privacy on the Internet.
What can spyware do?
Well like the definition says, it can steal your computer's information. It can slow down your computer significantly. Spyware has been known to decrease your computer/internet speed by about 70%. Sometimes more.
How is spyware installed on your computer?
Some gets bundled with free software that you download. E.g. you install Kazaa or Grokster, and you are also installing 10 different pieces of spyware. This is why Kazaa Lite is a better program to use, no spyware. Other spyware spreads through email and web pages using security vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer.
How do I get rid of spyware?
Many programs are out there to destroy spyware. Some are free too. One of the well known ones is Ad-aware. Ad-aware is freeware, so feel free to download it without risk.

Got a Virus?
Not going to go deep into viruses. But if you think you have one, or you want protection, just go to the AVG website (search it on google) and you'll get a free virus remover. Not the best though. Buy Kaspersky...it's a lot better than Norton.
